The foundation for 100% control

With the EyeSorter, EVT has developed an intelligent system for sorting small parts according to type, position and quality. The EyeSorter is used in parts flow control for trouble-free feeding to assembly and production machines. This prevents incorrect assembly in the machines due to incorrect or faulty feed parts.


The EyeSorter consists of a system with all the necessary components, such as image acquisition technology, evaluation, interfaces for outputting results and for feeding in external information, as well as a screen and operating elements for commissioning. The intuitive user guidance allows quick adaptation to the respective task and requires no special image processing knowledge.

 

Interfaces allow direct connection to ejection devices, including higher-level PLCs. For more complex tasks, such as precise measurement, the complete range of functions of the EyeVision software is available to the user on request.

EyeMIO-v2 -
The new SPS-IO-Module!

EVT presents the newly revised EyeMIO-v2. The EyeMIO is a PLC IO module for industrial use.

In conjunction with the image processing system from EVT Eye Vision Technology GmbH, it controls the peripherals and thus forms the physical interface between the image processing system and the production plant.


The EyeMIO-v2 offers four digital inputs and outputs, which can be galvanically isolated from the electronics. The EyeMIO is addressed via RS232 or USB. Very fast IO requests are possible via the USB block device interface directly at USB level. This speed advantage makes it possible to switch or read inputs and outputs even faster. The RS232 parameters: Baud rate, parity and the number of stop bits can be individually configured via USB.

 
Configurable on request

Each of the four digital outputs is PWM-capable. In addition, the EyeMIO-v2 can be freely configured according to customer requirements via the EyeMIO Manager.
Once configured, an EyeMIO retains its data and can be integrated into a system. This advantage offers maximum flexibility. In addition, the optimized arrangement of the LEDs makes it easier to check error states or communication.

With the EyeSorter, EVT has developed a new product that is unparalleled in the field of industrial image processing.

In the production of small or medium-sized components in very large quantities, it is often necessary to check before further processing whether the component is transported to the next processing step without errors and in the correct position on the conveyor belt. For this application we have developed our EyeSorter. It consists of a compact unit and only needs to be mounted by the customer and parameterized to the component at the push of a button.

This is easily done via a touch monitor. After mechanical assembly, the worker teaches the system to a good part with a single push of a button and all subsequent components are checked for correctness and position. The result, with counter, is shown on the display and immediately made available via I/O interfaces, for example to control switches.

EyeCheck 3000 DL -
Your simple solution for complex recognition tasks!

EVT now offers the EyeCheck 3000 with the Deep Learning Package. 
With the EyeCheck 3000 Deep Learning all standard image evaluations like optical measurement and inspection are possible as usual. The powerful hardware with NVIDIA GPU also allows to use the different pre-trained networks of the EyeVision software.

 

Simple application by drag-and-drop

With the help of EyeCheck 3000 Deep Learning the user can solve even complex recognition tasks simply by drag-and-drop. The easy retraining via Transfer Learning enables the quick adaptation of the existing networks to new tasks or products. The EyeVision software can be programmed directly, but also remotely via an interface.

 

The different inputs and outputs make it possible to embed the EyeCheck 3000 Deep Learning easily into industrial solutions, e.g. to control a robot or to communicate directly with a PLC via Profinet. In addition, the smart camera can simply be connected to a monitor and used like a PC. An additional computer is therefore not required

Smart Vision Cabinet -
Simple parking space management with EVT!

Discover how a license plate reading system simplifies barrierless parking management!

EVT’s flexible automatic number reading system is easy to use for parking monitoring and billing.

The system uses a camera to read the license plates of vehicles as they enter parking spaces and can then either report to a billing system or send to any other computer using the built-in protocols.

When leaving the parking area, the license plates are read again at the exit and sent to the billing system. The parking fee is then calculated from the time period.

The accounting system is either operated locally, i.e. the parking space user goes to the machine before leaving the parking space and pays the fee for his license plate, so that the process is then completed with the exit, or he has stored his data in the accounting system and the parking fees are collected automatically.

If the user forgets to pay the parking fee and leaves the parking area anyway, the license plate number can be used to determine the owner, so that the parking fee can then be charged.

Until the full settlement of the fees, the images are stored as evidence. For long-term parkers or registered users, an invoice is automatically generated after the parking process and sent digitally to the stored email address. So you always have an overview of the accrued parking fees.

Registered users also have the option of receiving the image data for entry and exit in addition to the invoice, before these are then deleted.

The EVT license plate reading system can be used in a variety of ways and scales to a wide range of systems, so that a suitable system can be put together for everything from complex parking garage management to individual parking spaces.

Eye SVC -
The fast solution for your image processing task!

Are you looking for a quick and easy way to do your image processing?

The Eye Smart Vision Cabinet is the solution!

The system is ready integrated in a mini control cabinet (250 x 350 x 120 mm) and consists of the EmSys system for 4 GigE cameras, as well as the power supply and monitor. All interfaces for a compact solution digital 24V (8 inputs and 8 outputs), but also for integration into a complex system via Profinet, Modbus, TCP/IP are available.

Four programmable current-controlled connections are also available for the control of LED lighting. A comprehensive data sheet about the system can be requested directly. The integrated EyeVision software makes it possible to immediately solve even complex image evaluations with just a few mouse clicks.

With the intuitive user interface and the command sets for the evaluation of 1D, 2D, 3D and thermal images, optical measurement, inspection and reading tasks can be implemented for all these applications in just a few steps. The results can either be signaled directly via the existing digital I/O or forwarded to a PLC via the existing bus protocols.

The OPC UA protocol also allows the system to be integrated into complex automation environments, making the EyeSVC a fully-fledged component for use in industrial environments.

The test results can be displayed on the built-in monitor as well as made available for other applications for embedding via the EyeView protocol. Both the parameters and the test programs can be changed directly on the built-in monitor or via a host computer or the SPC.

The ALLVISS Assistance system -

A digital assistance system, especially for manual workstations, which supports employees with powerful artificial intelligence. The system detects errors at an early stage and points them out to the employee so that errors can be eliminated immediately. This avoids the need for considerable rework if errors are discovered at a later stage.

 

Relief due to 4-eyes principle

The assistance system relieves the employee mentally, as he can now be sure that, thanks to the so-called 4-eyes principle (human and camera system), the responsibility for error-free production does not lie solely with him. Allviss is designed in such a way that it can be adapted to any workplace quickly, easily and individually. Exposure sensors and computer units are located in the upper area. A touch screen provides the operator with visual assistance. 

In addition to the integrated PLC for controlling the workstation, Allviss also has many other optional interfaces such as Profinet, Modbus, but also OPC UA and MQTT to integrate the manual workstation into a SCADA system.

EyeVision -
Save palletizing or depalletizing!

Palletizing or depalletizing is always based on the reliable and fast detection of the objects, be they cartons, bags or other objects, and the determined gripping data is then passed on to the robot.

The basis for correct gripping is hand-eye calibration, so that the robot grips at the position where the camera sees the object. For the recognition to work robustly and safely, a reliable detection of the objects is necessary. Here, the new DeepLearning-based recognition is the basis. As soon as the robot detects the objects with the DL, the gripping positions and angles are determined in the 3D image.

The point cloud reliably identifies which of the objects is at the top, so that depalletizing is started with this object. The predefined meshes in the EyeVision allow a large number of objects to be recognized directly without further ado. If an object, e.g. soaps, milk cartons, etc., should not be known, this can be relearned with the integrated learning tool within shortest time, so that also these objects can be recognized reliably.

Also this year, EVT will exhibit in Munich at automatica 2023. The focus is on EyeVision 4.8, Robot Vision with ROS 2 support, Advanced 3D and DeepLearning.

EVT presents the new EyeVision 4.8 version. It comes with a completely revised robot interface which makes it even easier to control different robots either in their native language or via the ROS 2 standard.

At our booth we will show how the whole system of image capture and robot action is simulated before the robot shows it in action. Many new use cases can be solved easily, not only in 3D but also with 2D. The new EyeVision has a further extended 3D command set with which it is also possible to easily implement fully automatic volume evaluations – with all supported sensors. Here we have invested a lot of work and integrated a large number of additional sensors.

Our new triangulation package completes the whole. In addition to the standard sensors, anyone can now slowly build a triangulation scanner with a line laser and a matrix camera and the EyeVision.

Be surprised about the extended communication capabilities of the EyeVision. Especially the OPC UA command has been extended again, but also MQTT, Profinet, Modbus and many more communication possibilities have been added.

And not to forget the enhancements in DeepLearning, which opens up application fields that could not be solved before, such as surface inspection technology but also many applications in the sorting area. Bin picking as well as palletizing and depalletizing become more efficient and reliable in recognition and gripping.

The 3D Triangulations Sensor -
The low-cost alternative to the compact sensor!

With the EyeVision software 3D evaluations can be easily realized. Almost all standard 3D sensor manufacturers are supported, from single shot sensors to compact triangulation sensors.

That 3D sensors are hardly used is in many cases due to the price, which is above 5000 EUR. The cost-intensive sensors are fast and for some applications therefore not replaceable, but these speeds are not always needed.

In many cases 3D scan rates of max. 2000 3D lines per second are sufficient, these can also be built up discretely. With this sensor costs of a few 100 EUR can be achieved depending on the laser and camera used. The EyeVision software contains all components in the toolset to calibrate such a setup and then also perform calibrated 3D measurements on the line or the captured point cloud.

In the picture you can see a demo setup showing the necessary components, on the left a GigE Ethernet camera (here also a MIPI or USB3 camera could be used) on the right a high quality line laser (Z-Laser) for the image fields and resulting setups there is a detailed description, so that you can realize almost any compact setups.

With the detailed description and a STEP file for the production of the calibration component it is possible to install a suitable 3D evaluation in each machine. No matter if bending angles are measured precisely during sheet metal production or if adhesive and sealing beads are checked during dispensing – with such a setup every machine can be equipped with a suitable 3D scanner at a reasonable price.

The evaluation of the 3D lines or point clouds generated in this way can then be configured simply by “drag and drop” – as is usual with the EyeVision software. In order to get a quick overview, the EyeVision demo version can be easily downloaded from the EVT website and tested with finished 3D projects. All examples available there for testing can also be realized with a discrete sensor setup as described above. The only limitation to be considered here is the speed. The sensor resolution is always higher than with the 3D compact sensors, because with the discrete setup any available camera can be used.

EVT at the Automate in Detroit -
In the sign of Deep Learning and RobotVision

EVT is exhibiting again this year in Detroit at Automate 2023. This year the focus is on DeepLearning and RobotVision an unbeatable combination for mastering both box handling and palletizing and depalletizing.

The simplified integration of the robots with the new RobotTool but also the support of ROS 2.0 make it even easier to realize robot vision applications. The new commands for hand eye and eye hand calibration can also be seen here. Targeted gripping is simplified. The new DL features as well as Robot Vision are available in the latest EyeVision 4.6 version and can be tested directly. But also the combination of 2D and 3D with DL through the fusion of 2D and 3D data opens up new fields of application. Especially the DL area was extended by a multitude of pre-trained meshes which also make DL a Ready To Use product, at the same time the integrated training tool allows to train existing meshes with new features directly in EyeVision.

Two new products round off the trade fair presence. Firstly, the EyeSorter is mentioned, with which, with just one push of a button, an intelligent chicane for the bowl feeder is realized, thus completely without programming simply show and start. In addition

The new EyeSorter -
The intelligent ejection for your spiral conveyor!

With the EyeSorter, EVT has developed a compact sorting box where the component is taught in by simply pressing a button – thus the EyeSorter is ready for use and only the correct components in the correct rotational position are forwarded, all others are sorted out.
The system was developed in such a way that it can be attached directly to the conveyor belt. All that is required is to slide the U-shaped inspection area over the belt, thus eliminating the need for lengthy parameter setting.
The integrated powerful evaluation unit not only learns at the push of a button, but also the setting of the sorting positions is possible with a few keystrokes.
In addition to good/bad categorization, the system also has the option of determining component dimensions to ensure not only correct storage, but also dimensional accuracy.

The EyeSorter is robust, insensitive to ambient light, and can be securely

EyeVolume -
Your efficent solution for filling containers!

Optimal utilization of cartons and containers is becoming increasingly important because it saves resources and reduces costs. EVT has developed a system with the combination of the 3D camera, the EyeScan BT 3D Time of Flight 3D scanner, the EyeVision software and an easy to use software interface, EVT has developed a system that reduces volume measurement to its simplest form.

In the first step, the empty containers are “taught” with a simple push of a button. Any number of variants can be taught in. The system automatically recognizes a batch change automatically. The volume is then measured at the push of a button or by a light barrier signal, for example, to measure the remaining empty volume and decide whether it can be filled up further or to determine how much volume must be filled up with a filler (packaging chips).

The container does not have to be aligned. The camera detects the container in any rotational position.

The results are transmitted to the higher-level system via common interfaces, such as Profinet.

Depending on the size of the containers and the required accuracy, different variants of 3D cameras are available.

By using the system “EyeVolume” the efficiency of filling containers is increased, resources are saved and costs are effectively reduced.

EVT provides with the image processing software EyeVision a versatile tool for the realization of image processing tasks. Whether 1D, 2D or 3D applications, EyeVison always provides a large number of tools to realize any imaginable application. 
Where classical image processing reaches its limits, it is possible to seamlessly switch to AI or Deep Learning within the software.
Ultimately, the acceptance of an image processing solution by the end user always depends on an intuitive and easy-to-use user interface. EVT has made the creation of an end user GUI (Graphical User Interface) much easier and more flexible with the latest version of EyeVision. The GUI Designer was developed for this purpose. Predefined buttons, result and statistic displays, camera images or “only” a simple good/bad signalization are tools with which the user can create his individual user interface very quickly. Of course, input fields can also be defined.
By integrating company-specific logos or designs, the appearance of the user interface can be adapted to the corporate design of the end customer.  The result is a user interface that meets the wishes and requirements of the customer and ensures user acceptance.
