3D-Eye smart 3D-camera with graphical user interface
Increasingly the current image processing tasks ask for 3D evaluation. Whenever it is not sufficient to work with a 2D image a 3D evaluation becomes necessary. There are different procedures to create a point cluster. They all have one together - they are a lot more complex than a 2D evaluation.
A robust variant is the laser triangulation which could be controlled better and better in the last years, especially since the semi conductor laser became more efficient and reliable.
Most systems are configured of the discrete components camera and laser. For the user this means an increased complexity especially during the setup. In addition it demands a more extended know-how concerning the calibration of the configured components, which has to be repeated after each change.
Here 3D-Eye breaks new ground. An extremely compact housing of approx. 110 x 80 x 40 mm provides not only a laser with image sensor but also a complete computer with the necessary evaluation software to realize a 3D evaluation immediately after starting.

The compact integration provides not only an immediately applicable 3D smart camera, also the user does not have to take care about the calibration of the system. Since it is already pre-configured, simply tighten the sensor at the standard interface and the evaluation can already start. Simple drag-and-drop programming (like at all EVT programms) allows to determine either the volume, to make measurements in the 3D area or to determine the robot gripper position.
The 3D-Eye smart camera is available completely calibrated in 3 resolution grades, further resolutions and scan ranges are available anytime on request. It is sufficient to attach the compact camera directly over the inspection location and to solve the task only by selecting the suitable command.

The soldering paste command determines immediately if there is soldering paste present at the correct spot and additional if there is sufficient soldering paste in volume units applied. This makes sure that in a further soldering process the components will be connected safely with the conductors.
