Allviss – the innovative digital assistance system

Production is constantly faced with new challenges, which is why we developed Allviss! Allviss is a digital assistance system, especially for manual workstations, which supports your employees with powerful artificial intelligence. A kind of partner who helps employees to quickly implement new production processes. The system detects errors at an early stage and informs the employee about them so that errors can be eliminated immediately. Allviss thus avoids time-consuming and costly rework. In addition, Allviss relieves the employee mentally because, thanks to the so-called four-eyes principle (man and camera system), he is not the only person responsible for error-free production.

Allviss can be adapted to any workplace and consists of a system structure with integrated lighting and high-resolution camera as well as the processing unit with the interfaces.The artificial intelligence of the system, paired with the powerful algorithms, allow quick and easy adaptation to the work steps to be checked. Additional tools can be integrated via the additional interfaces, e.g. a torque sensor not only to check the correct selection of the screw, but also to ensure that it has been tightened with the correct torque.The direct feedback appears as a visual aid on the touchscreen and gives the employee feedback at any time as to whether everything is correct or which work step should be corrected.Allviss is the employee’s partner, he helps him to do his job perfectly.


The new EyeSmartVision Cabinet

With the EyeSmartVision Cabinet (EyeSVC), the solutions with the EyeVision software become even easier and faster.

The EyeSVC consists of the EmSys computer, which is equipped with PoE for 4 GigE cameras, as well as a monitor and a signal tree. The EyeSVC can be operated either directly via 230V or 24V. In addition to the standard I/O 8/8 in 24V technology, the system has current-controlled LED outputs, which can be controlled directly via the lighting. The entire system is configured via the integrated EyeVision software using drag-and-drop, which means that optical measurement and testing tasks can be solved quickly without programming.

The entire EyeSVC is only 250x350x120 mm in size and can be easily accommodated anywhere. In addition to the digital I/O, many other communication interfaces such as Profinet, Modbus, TCP/IP and a serial interface RS232/485, but also an incremental encoder input are available for system integration. This means that the system can be used immediately for almost all optical inspections in the areas of 1D, 2D, 3D and thermography.

The results can either be signaled directly via the existing digital I/O or forwarded to a PLC via the existing bus protocols. The OPC UA protocol also enables the system to be integrated into complex automation environments.

The test results can be displayed on the built-in monitor or made available for embedding in other applications via the EyeView protocol. The parameters and the test programs can be changed directly on the built-in monitor or via a host computer or the SPC.

This makes the EyeSVC a fully-fledged component for use in the Industry 4.0 environment. A comprehensive data sheet about the system can be requested directly.


Bin Picking with EVT’s Deep Learning Recognizer

Safe Bin Picking is the combination of precise artificial intelligence recognition of a correct position in space with 3D and robot hand eye calibration. These functions are combined in the EyeVision software and enable fast and easy bin picking.

Even demanding applications such as loose, stacked cartons or bags lying on top of each other etc. are reliably detected and the correct gripping data is transmitted to the robot via the 3D data. The entire sequence can be put together quickly and easily using drag-and-drop, after which the robot works autonomously.

The Hand Eye calibration enables the correction of the absolute accuracy. As a result, the robot can grip even the smallest components safely and repeatedly in the entire installation space. The correction values are determined automatically and with minimal effort.

The multi-camera support of the EyeVision not only enables precise gripping, but also the placement of the components at the target with camera support. This means that even with different components (e.g. cartons), they can be stacked in the appropriate spaces.

By supporting all camera types of the EyeVision software (1D, 2D, 3D and thermal cameras), the appropriate camera can be selected for the task to be solved. For example, a 3D camera to remove the components from the box and a 2D camera to place them in another location.

As always, the software is integrated completely graphically and for communication with the robot and all other systems, a variety of interfaces are available, including OPC UA, Profinet, TCP IP and others.

The ideal powerful combination

The VAX camera series from Baumer and the image processing software from EVT provide the user with unprecedented power density. The small camera with a powerful processor and high resolution in combination with Eyevision allows solutions for tasks that previously required bulky and powerful PCs. All common interfaces allow direct operation without the need to connect an external computer via an interface, as is common with smart cameras.

EyeVision can be installed very easily or, if desired, the customer receives a completely pre-configured system from EVT. EVT’s more than 350 function tools leave nothing to be desired and allow any conceivable application to be realized.

The combination of VAX and EyeVision also allows AI applications. Tasks that cannot be solved or can only be solved with difficulty using classic image processing can be adapted to the task at hand by means of easy configuration with minimal training. Where previously thousands of images were needed for training, EyeVision gets by with just a few images in many applications. By integrating the image processing software EyeVision, medical mouth- and nose coverings can be checked for their quality. This enables precise compliance with the desired safety standards by immediately detecting errors and eliminating their causes.
The system is autonomous, fully configured and can therefore be used immediately. The innovative EyeVision software guarantees a precise, error-free and fast inspection of the protective masks. The software uses thermography to check the adhesive dots and seals, for example the rubber baths for attaching the mask to the ears.
In addition, the Optical Character Recognition command (OCR command) of the EyeVision software can be used to inspect the printed text and number on the masks for correctness and legibility. At the same time, the attachment of the metal nosepiece is checked so that it does not damage the machines on the production line if it is incorrectly attached. EyeVision not only inspects the mask, but also its packaging through thermography. The image processing software can prevent contamination of the medical product by inspecting the weld seam of the plastic packaging.


Hand-eye calibration with the EyeVision software

The EyeVision image processing software now enables simple and intuitive hand-eye calibration for robots and handling systems. The expanded command set enables hand-eye calibration of systems in 2D and 3D to be carried out with just a few clicks. A RoboCom command is also available, which includes communication with many robot manufacturers but can also be easily adapted to new robots. Numerous handling systems can also be controlled via this command. The combination of control, image acquisition in 2D or 3D and automatic adaptation means that the hand-eye calibration for the robot eye can be implemented quickly and precisely.


Real-time recognition of pharmacodes and color ring codes

Within the pharmaceutical industry, the documentation and traceability of products is very important and required by law. In addition to OCR codes, barcodes and DMC codes, pharma codes and color ring codes are also used so that products can be clearly identified at any time.

These two codes are either a single or multicolored print similar to a barcode or a code made up of several rings.

The EyeVision software enables the exact recognition of colors and color nuances in real time. The software assigns the recognized codes to a product. This is done very easily, without programming. This evaluation is very easy to implement with the powerful EyeVision color commands. The camera with which the task is to be carried out can be freely selected and the ideally suited camera can be used for the respective task.

Due to the simple integration using various interfaces such as Profinet, Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, remote control, remote control and the transfer of the results to higher-level systems, such as a database, is possible.


Line scan camera with 6K sensor

The smart cameras of the Jupiter series have been expanded by another line sensor with 6K pixels. This means that even higher resolutions or larger image areas can now be covered.

The Jupiter series is particularly suitable for all tasks involving continuous materials, for example in the fields of strip, plastics, extrusion, but also wood surface analysis. The camera series enables fast and precise inspection of all woven and non-woven materials.

A very advantageous feature is that line applications can be easily and quickly assembled using drag-and-drop. This means that many applications can be realized within 2- 4 hours and thus fast time-to-market solutions can be developed.

All cameras of the Jupiter series are equipped with GigE with PoE, which allows them to be powered directly via the Ethernet connection. A powerful I/O interface offers, in addition to various I/O lines within the 24V technology, incremental encoder inputs to synchronize the image acquisition with the system. A daisy chain input and output also allows several sensors to be lined up, so that even large areas can be scanned without gaps.

The powerful FPGA also allows fast image pre-processing. This pre-processing can be done by the customer with a suitable development tool or by EVT’s specialists.


EyeVision Crosshair Generator

A crosshair application where only a flicker-free overlay is superimposed on the camera image, or a semi-manual measurement system that works similar to a profile projector.

With the EyeVision Crosshair Generator diverse application cases can be solved, because the Crosshair Generator has various options. From a simple cross to further circles and scale strokes, everything can be configured.

In combination with the image analysis functions of the EyeVision software, the Crosshair Generator from EVT enables the realization of semi-automatic as well as fully automatic measurement sequences. The collected results can be transmitted directly to a PLC or host computer via the built-in communication interfaces OPC UA, TCP/IP, MQTT, Profinet, Modbus.

 

In addition, all camera options of the EyeVision software are available to the user. Thus, the crosshair generator can already be realized very inexpensively, for example on the basis of a Raspberry PI and an 8 megapixel camera.
